51,483!!! A 6K night!! (which I really needed as this week has been rough and yesterday I only manageed 800-ish)

My first NaNo!!! :) (I joined in 02 & 03 but never started)

The most I've written in over 5 years!! (I had horrific writer's block for aaaaages)

And I still am not finished with the novel - it'll probably be around 90K-ish. It was really tough - the writer's block (otherwise known as Inner Editor) was hard to break through. It was hard to just get words out and put aside the notion of "every single word I write must be an absolute pearl of wisdom and just the most perfect word ever to be written in the history of writing!"

This is fun. I really didn't know how much fun it would be and I'm loving it. Once I turned Inner Editor off, I was able to average about 3k/day. And I thought it would be difficult to get to 1667/day!

Anyway, enough babbling. Thanks for reading. :)

Fourth year doing NaNoWriMo, first year to actually *finish* a NaNovel. It doesn't have a title, but I'm proud of my work. I even got to put the words "The End" on the end to add those precious two words to my final word count! I can't wait until the validator is up and running...

Now I can sleep. ;-)

The muse came through big time tonight and I have hit 50,000 exactly!!!  The odd/amusing anthology story which hit the 50k mark is here in my LJ (caution: adult material in the post).

I still intend to keep working on this anthology a bit longer, at least through the rest of the week, as I have a few other story ideas in my head.

If I could actually dance, I'd be mimicking Snoopy about now......

I asked this on an old journal, years ago, but I'm not sure that it ever came to fruition in 2006 or 2007.

[i]timecanwait posting in [i]nanowrimo: late night stumbling block

Hi everyone,

If this isn't a kosher thing to ask in this community, I'm sorry!  I've hit a stumbling block in my plot--my MC's got some issues, and I want her to go to a couple therapy sessions and then quit.  Problem is, I've no idea how therapy sessions go.

I don't need any super specifics, I'm just curious if there are any psych students/pros or anyone out there who can tell me what the first session with a psychologist is like.  How does the session start?  What sorts of questions do they ask at first?  Is there a ton of paperwork to fill out before you actually see someone, or is it just like going to any other doctor?  Is the psychologist the right person to be seeing, or is there some other sort of therapist which is better suited to general sessions?  Do you need to have a legitimate and specific reason for seeking the help of a psychologist, or can you just go because?  My MC doesn't really have anything wrong with her per se, she's just having a lot of trouble with herself and her relationships and no one to talk to about it.

Thanks in advance and may the Word Fairy leave you lots of presents!
